TAPPING TROUBLES AWAY
Michelle Dorrance, founder and artistic director of Dorrance Dance, is one of the most sought after tap dancers of her generation. Her imaginative work, which continually pushes the boundaries of this time-honored form, made her a MacArthur Fellow. Beginning tonight, her company is coming to the Wallis in Beverly Hills through October 14 to offer a three-work program that exemplifies the amazing array for which her company is known. Set to original live music, the centerpiece is the new, fully extended version of Myelination—choreographed in collaboration with, and featuring improvisation by the dancers. Opening the program are the rarely-seen, Bessie Award-winning Three to One and a revival of the whimsical Jungle Blues.
