ROYAL DANCE PREMIERES
Do you hear the buzz? One of the biggest events of the year with some of the biggest arts organizations in the world involved, The Music Center’s Dorothy Chandler Pavilion will host the dance world premiere of the 45-minute Inferno which will be a part of the full-length evening The Dante Project when it opens with the Royal Ballet in the future. The fascinating, instantly accessible music — rife with syncopation and unique harmony — is composed by Thomas Adès, who gives Wayne McGregor a lot of textured music to work with. Appearing in Inferno for these two performances on July 12 & 13, 2019 are the world-renowned Royal Ballet.
Company Wayne McGregor will also present Living Archive: An AI Performance Experiment, a piece incorporating an artificial intelligence-driven choreographic tool designed by Google Arts & Culture — a technological first for the dance world. Also on the program is the west coast premiere of Outlier. Adès conducts the LA Phil live, and dancers from both companies will be appearing.
