THE SCORE THAT’S A BIG SURPRISE
The Girl with the Alkaline Eyes is a futuristic A.I. thriller set in a high-tech lab where a young, hot-shot coder has been hard at work on a secret project: an extraordinarily lifelike creation who will change not only the life of his creator, but the lives of everyone around him. With a plot out of a binge-worthy Netflix drama, this unique Off-Broadway dance-theater piece was punctuated by Eric Dietz’s original score.
Blurring the lines between electronica, classical, new music and show tunes, the music is awash in character, constantly demanding attention. The 19 instrumental tracks comprising the score that Dietz composed for choreographer and director Chase Brock’s evening-length dance thriller are now available for digital steaming. Recorded and mixed with seamless clarity by Jeff Cook at 2nd Story Sound, NYC, The Girl with the Alkaline Eyes features Arthur Moeller on violin, Amy Kang on cello, and Rob Berman (Encores! Music Director) on piano; this double trio masters the quivering, lovely, scintillating music. The electronics performed by Mr. Dietz simply pop out. Highly recommended.
