HERE COME THE BLUEBIRDS OF HAPPINESS
One of the very few blessings arising from COVID-19 is that concerts that are only seen by a privileged few can now be seen virtually around the globe. Tonight, Friday, Oct. 23 at 8pm ET, the 19th Annual John Jarrard Foundation Songwriter Show will be livestreamed from the Bluebird Café in Nashville, TN. The event has been moved from Brenau University in Gainesville, GA due to the Pandemic. Get a front row seat in this famed location, one of my favorites, to hear prolific No. 1 hit songwriters Phil Vassar, Tony Arata, Lee Thomas Miller and Wendell Mobley. Some of Nashville’s most prolific songwriters, their combined stories, hit songs and charismatic stage presence will be an event you gotta see. View for free at John Jarrard Foundation or on Facebook.
The concert honors the memory of John Jarrard, a Gainesville, GA native who died in 2001 after a long battle with Type 1 diabetes. Before his death, Jarrard wrote 11 #1 hit songs performed by country artists including Alabama, George Strait, Don Williams and Tracy Lawrence. He was inducted posthumously into the Georgia Music Hall of Fame in 2010.
The Bluebird has gained a reputation for hosting shows from both up-and-coming and renown songwriters. Tonight, expect to hear songs written for country artists such as Garth Brooks, Tim McGraw, Chris Stapleton, Kenny Chesney and more. Wendell Mobley wrote several songs with Jarrard, including the #1 Hit song “We Can’t Love Like This Anymore†by Alabama. All of these performers knew and loved John back in the day when songwriters helped make Nashville the Music City.
