Beverly Hills’ The Wallis and Black Rebirth Collective are presenting a co-production of UNMASKED: A Theatrical Celebration of Black Women’s Liberation — filmed in The Wallis’s Lovelace Studio Theater — premiering on Saturday, June 19, 2021 (Juneteenth) and available for on demand streaming through Friday, July 2. Tickets for the evening of four plays (total run time of 55 minutes) are $19.00 per household, or $5.00 each for individual plays.
Co-directed by Kimberly Hébert, Black Rebirth Collective’s Artistic Director and Founder, and Camille Jenkins, The Wallis’ Programming Manager, Unmasked features one-act plays by Dominique Morisseau (Skeleton Crew; Pipeline; Ain’t Too Proud), Jocelyn Bioh (School Girls; Or, The African Mean Girls Play), Ngozi Anyanwu (Gluttony/Seven Deadly Sins), and Stacy Osei-Kuffour (Animals), four of the country’s preeminent voices in American theater.
