For years, Stage and Cinema has been covering the work of writer, composer and lyricist LT Cousineau’s original holiday offerings in Chicago. Now setting up Santa’s shop in Palm Springs, LT is presenting for one night only a heartwarming and hilarious “Holi-gay” Revue, Songs from My Holiday Closet. Revolution Stage Company will host the show on Monday, December 18, at 7:30pm.
The book and all the lyrics for this 90-minute (with intermission) cabaret are from the slightly twisted mind of the host and emcee LT. This festive, funny, and surprisingly moving original show skewers the holidays while poking fun at Broadway, Rankin and Bass Claymation specials, travel woes, Santa Daddy fetishism, old unloved ornaments, and the true torture, comedy and drama that can only be seen through the eyes of a gay boy at family Christmas dinner. In addition to LT, Songs from My Holiday Closet will feature Joel Baker at the piano and special guests Christine Michele, Tod Macofsky, Kim Schroeder Long, Jenne Carey and a few gents from A Cabbello, the Desert’s Premiere Vocal Ensemble.
The music is by Cindy O’Connor and additional music by Russ Coutinho, Bill Johnson, Jake Anthony, Mike O’Mara, and Patrick Sinozich.
LT Cousineau most recently appeared at the Palm Canyon Theatre in their productions of RENT and Brigadoon. His favorite productions elsewhere have included The Secret Garden (Neville – Robbie award nominee), The Most Happy Fella (Herman), and Grand Hotel (Otto).
Advance tickets are $22 ($25 at the door) and can be purchased online at https://www.revolutionstagecompany.com/
