ONE-NIGHT ONLY: ELĪNA GARANČA RECITAL

Mezzo-soprano ElÄ«na Garanča will be returning to Santa Monica’s BroadStage for a performance as part of their Celebrity Opera Recital series bringing noted opera talents to the BroadStage, offering local audiences an opportunity to experience high-caliber operatic performances.. The event will take place on Friday, May 10, 2024, at 7:30 pm at the Eli and Edythe Broad Stage at the Santa Monica Performing Arts Center. ElÄ«na Garanča will be accompanied by an orchestra under the direction of British conductor Karel Mark Chichon.

Garanča is recognized for her vocal quality, musicianship, and stage presence, and has garnered international acclaim across major global venues such as the Metropolitan Opera, Wiener Staatsoper, and the Salzburg Festival. Her extensive career has also earned her several accolades, including two GRAMMY nominations. Maestro Chichon is noted for his skilled musicianship and has received praise for his work from various international critics.

Elīna Garanča was born in Riga, Latvia, and began her professional career in Germany before becoming a prominent figure in the international opera scene. She is especially known for her performances as Carmen, which have been highly praised and include a notable production at the Metropolitan Opera that was broadcasted globally.
