STELLAR LINE-UP FOR MAY
A summer of great music, charismatic personalities and unspoken theatre insider-only stories galore starts when COACHELLA VALLEY REPERTORY’s 2024 SUMMER CABARET SERIES begins on May 15. Cabaret headliners for May are “America’s Tenor” MAXIMO MARCUSO (May 15), Broadway Tony Award-winner FAITH PRINCE (May 16), Broadway’s ultimate insider, GLENN ROSENBLUM (May 22), and actor, singer, violinist EDMUND BAGNELL (May 23). And they’re just the start. CVRep has scheduled 17 memorable evenings of award-winning talent, vivacious personalities, music and song, levity, and stories that are just waiting to be shared.

MAXIMO MARCUSO │May 15, 2024
One of the most talented vocalists of our time, Maximo thrills audiences with his diverse repertory of operatic arias, classical crossovers, Broadway standards and contemporary favorites (see Stage and Cinema‘s interview.). His powerful vocals and irresistible charm are intoxicating. He has sung in Berlin, Frankfurt, and Rome, as well as in New York, Boston, Chicago, Atlantic City, Los Angeles, and Las Vegas. Marcuso was born in in the Capital of Guatemala City, Central-America and grew up in a family of classical musicians and singers. He was initially trained by his mother, a renowned soprano and he made his first solo appearance singing “Ave Maria” at the age of 8 at the National Palace of the city. He continued his musical studies at the National Cultural Center and the prestigious Maria Callas School of Opera. By the age of 18 he was touring throughout Central and South America, Mexico and the United States. Marcuso relocated to the United States, where he quickly established a career in Miami as a popular entertainer in a wide variety of musical genres. Moving to Los Angeles, he continued coaching and expanding his career. He was the tenor soloist at the Crystal Cathedral for several years with the Crystal Cathedral’s Hour of Power Philharmonic in Garden Grove, California. He has appeared as a guest artist with Pasadena Symphony and POPS Orchestra in the Night at the Oscars, Music Under the Stars, and as the featured soloist for the Golden State Pops Orchestra Holiday Pops Spectacular. Marcuso has also performed with the LA Phil, the Hollywood Ensemble Opera, and the Santa Monica and Nevada Symphonies.
FAITH PRINCE │ May 16, 2024
She is one of Broadway’s most-loved leading ladies! FAITH PRINCE won Tony ®, Drama Desk and Outer Critics Circle awards for her performance as Ms. Adelaide in Guys and Dolls and was nominated for Tony, Drama Desk and Outer Critics Circle awards for A Catered Affair. She received rave reviews for her role in Broadway’s Disaster! The Musical and as the irascible Miss Hannigan in the Broadway revival of Annie. Prince has appeared in other noted productions, including The Little Mermaid, Bells are Ringing (Tony, DD, OCC noms), Nick & Nora (OCC Award), Jerome Robbins’ Broadway (Tony, DD noms), Little Me, The Dead, First Wives Club and Noises Off. She starred in the world premiere of Terrence McNally’s Unusual Acts of Devotion and in the national tour of Billy Elliott. She had a recurring role in the ABC Family sitcom, Melissa & Joey, as Gloria Longo, and in the Fox musical Drama Monarch as Nellie Cantrell.
A live recording of her 2005 cabaret debut at Joe’s Pub at The Public Theater in New York, titled A Leap of Faith, was released on the DRG Records label. A second recording, titled Total Faith, was recorded at the Royal Room, Palm Beach, Florida. She participated in studio recordings of scores from Breakfast at Tiffany’s and Jerry Herman’s unproduced musical, Miss Spectacular.
Prince performs her cabaret act throughout the country, and has appeared in the concert version (and accompanying recording) of the revue Life Begins at 8:40 at the Library of Congress in Washington, D.C. She has performed with longtime friend Jason Graae (who comes to CVRep June 20) on The Prince and the Showboy, a show which pays tribute to composer Jerry Herman (La Cage aux Follies, Mame, Hello Dolly!). Prince and Graae won the 2013 New York Nightlife Award for outstanding musical comedy performer for their work.
BROADWAY SHOWSTOPPERS SERIES WITH GLENN ROSENBLUM

Glenn Rosenblum (see Stage and Cinema‘s interview) is a busy vocalist, actor, musical mensch, lecturer, and celebrity talent broker. An amazing font of musical and theatre knowledge and insider information, Rosenblum continues his survey of musical theatre with Installments of BROADWAY SHOWSTOPPERS with GLENN ROSENBLUM. BroadwayWorld.com called him the “New Prince of Los Angeles Cabaret” in his new one man cabaret show, The Musical Man. He has been seen regionally on stage in musicals, including Cabaret (Emcee), Guys and Dolls (Nathan Detroit), Man of La Mancha (Barber), and Little Shop of Horrors (Seymour). He also played himself in Annabelle Gurwitch’s hit comedy Fired!, recorded for National Public Radio at Los Angeles Theatre Works. His off-Broadway credits include Lucky Lucy and the Fortune Man, starring Blythe Danner, Little Mighty with Sam Harris, and Rise of David Levinksy, featuring Larry Kert. Glenn’s television work includes an Old Navy commercial with Kristin Chenoweth, as well as episodic turns on the series Bones and Miami Vice.
New York credits include Off-Broadway: Lucky Lucy with Blythe Danner, Rise of David Levinsky. In the Los Angeles Area, Grey Gardens, Promises, Promises, Sugar, Mame, Zorba, Minnie’s Boys, and, most recently, Follies, and Man of La Mancha with Ken Howard/Marilyn McCoo at the Pasadena Civic. Regional roles include Guys and Dolls, Cabaret, and Little Shop of Horrors. Rosenblum has been seen on television in Bones and Miami Vice. He has lectured extensively about Broadway for Crystal Cruises, CVRep Conservatory, and David Green’s Musical Theatre University.
His passion and obsession for Broadway’s Musical Theatre history has lead him globetrotting with Crystal Cruises as a guest lecturer. Twenty years ago, Glenn started his own company: Celebrity Access, Inc. NC. He continues as a leading talent broker of celebrity talent for diversified promotional events, product endorsements, media tours, direct-response marketing and infomercials. His Los Angeles-based company provides access to the most extensive celebrity talent base in the industry today. EDMUND BAGNELL: THIS MAGIC MOMENT │May 23, 2024

Audiences will fall under a musical spell with actor, singer, violinist (1st violin for Well Strung) EDMUND BAGNELL This Magic Moment is a musical celebration of deeply felt moments big and small. Bagnell’s performance will include standards, pop, Broadway, disco, country, classical mashups, and more.
A native of South Carolina, Bagnell was cast as Tobias Ragg during his senior year at NYU in the 1st National Tour of John Doyle’s staging of Sweeney Todd. This lead to many more performances as an actor in NYC and across the country. He debuted and toured internationally with his solo one-man show to rave reviews. In 2012, Bagnell became the 1st violinist and vocalist with the internationally touring string quartet, Well Strung, which released three chart topping albums in the classical crossover genre. They have had several notable live performances on the “Today Show,” toured internationally, performed on Broadway and with many notable performers, including Kristin Chenoweth and Audra McDonald.
