Music By John Williams, an all-new documentary on the life and career of the legendary composer, will have a limited theatrical release, but beginning Friday, the El Capitan Theatre in Hollywood will be showing a West Coast Exclusive in a limited engagement November 1-7, 2024. From his early days as a jazz pianist to his 54 Oscar nominations (!) and five wins, the documentary takes an in-depth look at Williams’ countless contributions to film including many iconic franchises, as well as his music for the concert stage and his impact on popular culture.

Directed by Laurent Bouzereau, the film features interviews with artists and filmmakers whose lives have been touched by his timeless music: Steven Spielberg, Kathleen Kennedy, Frank Marshall, Kate Capshaw, Gustavo Dudamel, J.J. Abrams, Chris Martin, Ron Howard, Chris Columbus, George Lucas, Itzhak Perlman, Lawrence Kasdan, Yo-Yo Ma, Ke Huy Quan, James Mangold, Alan Silvestri, David Newman, Thomas Newman, Seth MacFarlane, Anne-Sophie Mutter, and Branford Marsalis.
Daily showtimes for Music By John Williams at El Capitan, restored to its original lavish architecture with state-of-the-art technology, are 10:00am, 1:00pm, 4:00pm, and 7:00pm. Also coming to El Capitan: Moana and Maui return to the big screen in Disney’s newest adventure, Moana 2 November 27 through December 15. Before the movie, guests can see Moana on stage. Daily showtimes are 10:00am, 1:00pm, 4:00pm, 7:00pm, and 9:55pm. A 7:30am screening is available on select Saturday and Sundays. Be among the first among the first to see it with early screenings on Tuesday November 26 at 2:00pm, 5:00pm, 8:00pm, and 11:00pm. A Fan Event screening happens at 7:00pm on Wednesday, November 27.
