The Picture of Dorian Gray is coming to Broadway’s Music Box Theatre for a strictly limited engagement 14-week engagement following a sold-out run in London’s West End. Sarah Snook (Shiv Roy in Succession), who won the 2024 Olivier Award for her performance, makes her Broadway debut beginning March 27, 2025, in an acting coup for the ages, taking on all 26 roles in this gripping, witty and vibrantly contemporary production that breathes new life into Oscar Wilde’s classic tale (previews begin March 10). Director Kip Williams’ interpretation of Wilde’s tale of beauty, excess, and a deal with the devil brings a striking resonance in our current era, holding a mirror to 21st century society’s narcissistic obsession with youth.
This ground-breaking production delivers an explosive interplay of live performance and video in an astonishing collision of form. The celebrated world premiere in 2020 extended twice in Sydney and toured to critical and audience acclaim throughout Australia. Last year in London, The Picture of Dorian Gray also received a Best Costume Design Olivier Award for Marg Horwell., who also designed the sets.
The production will be offering 26 pairs at $50 (per ticket) to the first people in line (limit of two tickets each) in celebration of Snook’s daring portrayal.
