CELEBRATING THREE BEETHOVEN MASTERPIECES
In case you haven’t heard of them yet, Modus Operandi Orchestra (MOO) is comprised of some of the finest players in the New York City area. Led by internationally acclaimed conductor Justin Bischof, this truly is an awesome ensemble. At Merkin Hall on Wed March 12 at 6:30 (the perfect time to escape rush hour traffic), the orchestra will be joined by the wonderful pianist Alexandre Moutouzkine, who will perform Beethoven’s majestic Piano Concerto No. 5 “Emperor” Op. 73. Opening the program—The 3Bs: Beethoven, Beethoven, Beethoven!— is the Coriolan Overture Op. 62 (1807), which is much more than an amuse-bouche. To close is the monumental Symphony No. 7 Op. 92 (1812). And for those who avoid orchestras because of the price, fear not—it’s very affordable. I highly recommend this outfit.
