THE DISNEY PRINCESSES RANKED FROM WORST TO BEST:
WHO TRULY DESERVES THE CROWN?

Disney has been making movies about princesses for almost a century. They’ve inspired countless Disney princess costumes, books, toys, sheets, towels, mugs, and so on to infinity!

With so many princesses to evaluate, we’re taking this opportunity to look back and ask, 100% objectively, where do some of the best known Disney princesses sit on a ranking of worst to best?

9- Mulan

Mulan is great ’” we all love Mulan, and we’re not throwing shade. But, you know, even though Disney always list her as one of their Disney princesses, she isn’t actually a princess.

Yes, she saves China, and maybe it’s even more impressive that she manages so much despite her humble birth, but she simply doesn’t meet the criterion; you can’t be the best Disney Princess if you aren’t a princess. Sorry, Mulan, but rules are rules. You’re one of the best people in the Disney universe, but you’re among the worst princesses.

8 – Ariel

Technically, by the end of The Little Mermaid, Ariel isn’t a princess anymore. She gives up her title with her tail; you can’t be in charge of the ocean if you can’t breathe in your own realm! However, she was at least a princess at the start of the movie, so she counts as more of one than Mulan.

7 – Aurora

Aurora from Sleeping Beauty is easily one of the least impressive Disney Princesses of all time. She spends most of her story asleep! When they did a live action reboot, she didn’t even get to be the star ’” they let the villain, Maleficent, take centre stage.

6 – Snow White

Snow White’s moral character isn’t nearly as ‘snow white’ as her name would have you believe. Exploiting Dwarf labor? That might have been OK in 1937, but times have changed. Shame on you, Snow White!

5 – Cinderella

Cinderella is a rags to riches story (literally), and who doesn’t love that? But she comes up in the world by marrying into wealth, and that’s not very #2020. Plus, most of her success is due to having a magical fairy Godmother. Those other princesses have to get out there and hustle to succeed on their own merits, not like Cinderella, who has everything handed to her like a glass slipper.

4 – Belle

Belle from Beauty and the Beast is one of the most beloved Disney princesses, but you really have to question her judgement. I mean, turning down Gaston? Is she crazy? Doesn’t she know how great Gaston is? No one’s slick as Gaston! No one’s quick as Gaston! No one’s neck’s as incredibly thick as Gaston’s! Who plays cards like Gaston? Who breaks hearts like Gaston? Who’s much more than the sum of his parts like Gaston? There’s no man in town half as manly!

2 and 3 – Elsa and Anna

Frozen has been so popular that it’s hard to judge just where these snowy sisters should go in our list. The world has been so bombarded by Frozen costumes, Frozen toys, and Frozen playing endlessly on repeat that many parents around the world have developed F.S.D. (Frozen Stress Disorder).

Are Anna and Elsa the most impressive princesses in the Disney universe? Maybe. But we’re going to need to thaw out for a few years before we can muster up enthusiasm about it.

1 – Moana

Is Moana technically a princess? Well, she’s the daughter of the chief, and that’s close enough for us. Moana displays incredible courage, has wonderful songs, and is very hard to beat for the title of best princess in the entirety of the Disney universe.
