Journey through the wonders of Ancient Egypt as two young men, raised together as brothers in a kingdom of privilege, find themselves suddenly divided by a secret past. One must rule as Pharaoh, the other must rise up and free his true people; both face a destiny that will change history forever. The West End sensation,  The Prince of Egypt: The Musical, will be  available to Buy or Rent on Digital from December 5.

The Prince of Egypt had a brief run at the Dominion Theatre, opening shortly before the theater industry shut down in 2020. This musical had two short engagements but ultimately concluded its run in January 2022. However, it was captured on film for release in December 2021 by Universal Studios International. The show was filmed a total of three times, with and without an audience, in order to capture close-ups and crane shots. The show features a cast and orchestra of 60 performers, making it one of the biggest musicals ever staged.

Based on the classic DreamWorks Animation film the classic story has been brought to life by composer Stephen Schwartz (Wicked and Godspell).  The Prince of Egypt  features 10 brand-new songs in addition to 5 cherished tracks from the DreamWorks Animation film, including “When You Believe,” “Deliver Us,” “All I Ever Wanted,” “Through Heaven’s Eyes,” and “The Plagues.”

The London production is directed by Scott Schwartz with choreography by Sean Cheesman, set design by Kevin Depinet, costume design by Ann Hould-Ward, lighting design by Mike Billings, sound design by Gareth Owen, projection design by Jon Driscoll, illusions by Chris Fisher, hair, wigs and makeup design by Campbell Young Associates, orchestrations by August Eriksmoen, musical supervision and arrangements by Dominick Amendum and musical direction by Dave Rose. The casting director is Jim Arnold CDG and children’s casting director Verity Naughton CDG.
