MUCH TOO GAY? JUST GAY ENOUGH!

This past Thursday evening, Revolution Stage Company presented a dazzling, high-energy celebration of LGBTQ+ pride, self-acceptance, and joy—filled with wit, glitter, and heart—in LT’s Much Too Gay Cabaret: A Performance for Ladies, Gentlemen, and Everyone in Between. The show embraced the gay experience in all its vibrancy, tackling everything from AIDS to sex, pride, and identity with humor, poignancy, and plenty of sparkle. Focusing on LT’s original songs and hysterical parodies—many in the style of the gay Great White Way, each dripping with clever lyrics and cheeky fun—the evening was an unforgettable ride through the highs and lows of gay life, celebrating what it means to live one’s authentic self.

As the star of the show, LT Cousineau was captivating. His witty commentary and larger-than-life persona set the tone for the evening, creating an electric atmosphere that had the audience laughing, crying, and cheering in equal measure. Each number offered a snapshot of gay life—some laugh-out-loud hilarious, others deeply introspective and vulnerable. Cousineau’s ability to mix lightheartedness with gravitas is masterful.

Chip Prince on piano set the rhythm for the evening’s emotional highs and lows. His steady hand on the keys created the perfect backdrop for each performer, anchoring the show in a way that allowed the lyrics to shine even brighter.

Every one of LT’s featured performers had show-stealing moments. Michelle Estrada’s powerful vocals and commanding stage presence brought unmatched energy to each number. Brent Aronowitz delivered a delightful mix of humor and heart, balancing light and dark moments with precision. John Corr brought fresh energy with youthful exuberance and charm, while Jenne Carey’s operatic performance filled the room with soaring vocals that left the audience mesmerized. Tod Macofsky added an offbeat charm, his humor and humility shining through every moment.

And then there was Truly Scrumptious (Brent Ries), whose over-the-top theatrical flair was the perfect cherry on top of this vibrant cabaret. His campy, glamorous numbers were pure entertainment while celebrating the joy and freedom of embracing one’s true self.

Much Too Gay Cabaret was a one-of-a-kind show—a joyous celebration of gay life, love, and everything in between. With brilliant performances, clever songs, and a ton of heart, it was a perfect kickoff to Palm Springs Pride and an evening no one in attendance will soon forget. This cabaret deserves a longer life; it would fit beautifully in cities like San Francisco, New York, and Los Angeles.
