NOW, ON A LIGHTER VOTE…

As our divided nation approaches the election of 2020 with emotions, passions, and suspicions running at an all-time high, Jimmy Tingle’s 20/20 Vision will entertain, enlighten and challenge you to move beyond the current politics of presidential tweets, sound bites, and the nightly news cycle and into the realm of long-term thinking and life-affirming possibility. For 10 nights only (October 24–November 2 at 8pm ET), Jimmy’s new special Why Would a Comedian Run for Office? will be presented alongside a Q&A with Jimmy and, for 7 nights, Paula Poundstone (more guests TBA). These live screenings on ZOOM will also support VoteAmerica. a non-profit dedicated to combating the chaos of the 2020 election cycle by helping to drive record-shattering voter turnout. (See Jimmy’s short video to get the vote out.)

Through comedy, commentary and prescient video clips Jimmy aspires to contribute to the cultural conversation in a positive, hopeful, and funny way as America strives to create, in the words of Abraham Lincoln, “a more perfect union.”

The comedy special/documentary is a funny, thought-provoking, and hopeful look at contemporary life and politics through the experience of comedian, commentator, and 2018 candidate for Lt. Governor of Massachusetts, Jimmy Tingle, who weaves personal narration from the campaign headquarters and basement of his Cambridge, Massachusetts home with politically charged comedy and commentary from the stage of the Sanders Theatre at Harvard University.
