- The Groundlings Main Company returns to the legendary stage on Melrose with a brand new improv show, Groundlings Lights Up! This limited-run show will be the first live event on our stage in 16 months and we can’t wait to laugh with you all IN-PERSON!

The Groundlings Players begin with three suggestions from the crowd, and then proceed to weave the stories together, traveling back and forth through time, playing different characters in many different situations. AND, they keep it up for an uncanny 40 minutes straight. AND, after a brief break, they come back and do it all over again with three new suggestions!

The Groundlings Theatre is an improvisation and sketch comedy theatre that has been entertaining LA audiences since 1974. They are a non-profit organization founded by Gary Austin. The Groundlings School has been the foremost comedy training ground in Hollywood and the springboard for countless careers including comic geniuses from film and television such as Melissa McCarthy, Phil LaMarr, Jennifer Coolidge, Ben Falcone, Will Ferrell, Ana Gasteyer, Kathy Griffin, Cheryl Hines, Chris Kattan, Taran Killam, Lisa Kudrow, Jon Lovitz, Paul Reubens, Maya Rudolph, Mindy Sterling and Kristen Wiig, among others.
