CREATURES PERFORMING SONGS OF PASSION

Join the Troubies, masters of musical mirth, for an hour-long, family-friendly, song-filled sojourn with classic characters from antiquity at their Valentine’s presentation of Cupid’s Eros. See Medusa & Perseus, Achilles & Patroclus, Pandora and her Box, Polyphemus & Sheep and more, sing and dance for a chance at romance! Join the live Troubadorchestra for the sweet sounds of the 1970s and ‘80s as the tumultuous Troubies let fly their ancient antics.

Directed by Matt Walker, the performances will take place at the Getty Villa on Friday, February 9, Saturday, February 10, and Sunday, February 11 at 7pm. For tickets ($35), visit Getty Villa. Each performance will be followed with a glass of prosecco and a chocolate treat. The cabaret is co-produced by Troubadour Theater.

Classic love songs from the 70s and 80s will be performed from artists and musicals, including Billy Preston, Air Supply, Bonnie Tyler, Englebert Humperdinck, Pat Benatar, Queen, Chicago, and more.

The cast includes Malynda Hale, Suzanne Jolie Narbonne, Heather Youmans, Cloie Wyatt Taylor, Rick Batalla, Philip McNiven, Jimmy Lambert, Isaac Robinson-Smith, and Matt Walker.

Cupid’s Eros is part of the Getty Villa Museum’s theater program, presenting reinterpretations of Greek and Roman classical plays through play readings, theater labs, premiere presentations, and the annual outdoor theater production.

Troubadour Theater is a free-wheeling, no holds barred, Commedia Del Arte flavored, slapstick driven Los Angeles based theatrical performance and event company – made up of actors, musicians, and comedians that has been performing for audiences throughout Southern California and beyond since 1995.
