Speak easy. Dance hard. Music from deep down.

The best jazz musicians in L.A. live, a comedian or two, sixteen dancers, and the kind of dangerous, incendiary entertainment you didn’t think was around anymore. At the hottest underground club in the city, audiences may be mesmerized, but they won’t sit still. When you’re tired of the sameness and tameness, this is the place.

For 10 nights only — March 1-22, 2024 — ACB Jazz fuses two of the most intoxicating dance forms ever created, with electrifying results. Set in a semi-immersive speakeasy, the evening features ACB’s wild The Charlestons, two new ballets…and more.

ACB Director Lincoln Jones says the show is about unleashing the artist’s unruly, improvisatory spirit. “Arnold Schoenberg said ‘Composition is slowed-down improvisation’, which is true, but there’s something about hearing Duke Ellington, Louis Armstrong, Johnny Dodds, and Jelly Roll Morton, whose music we dance to in the show, where the improvisation feels closer to the surface. It makes the music feel more immediate and alive. Dancing to it lets something loose in you that you can’t control. And that’s the whole idea.”
