THREE VOICES, A LIFETIME
OF SHOW BUSINESS

Broadway, Hollywood, and LA theater
come together for a two-night concert

Soap operas, Broadway musicals, Shakespeare, and This Is Spinal Tap don’t often turn up in the same concert announcement. But those are just some of the credits behind 2 Dudes & Their Teach: Singing, which brings Kevin Spirtas, Christian Maltez, and Gloria Gifford to Hollywood’s Hudson Guild Theatre for two performances, November 13 and 14.

Spirtas is best known for his 15 seasons as Dr. Craig Wesley on Days of Our Lives, but he also appeared on Broadway in A Chorus Line, Meet Me in St. Louis, and Hairspray. He co-created and starred in After Forever, a digital drama about love and loss that earned him four Daytime Emmy Awards.

Maltez, billed as a romantic vocalist, has an extensive Los Angeles theater background with the Gloria Gifford Conservatory that includes Much Ado About Nothing, presented with a rock-and-roll score, The Motherf**ker with the Hat, and The Art of Dining.

Gifford, the “Teach” of the title, made her Broadway debut opposite Zero Mostel in Arnold Wesker’s The Merchant and played Richard Pryor’s wife in California Suite. Her film credits include 48 Hrs., Halloween II, and This Is Spinal Tap, while her television appearances range from Cagney & Lacey to Life Goes On. She has also performed as a torch singer and won multiple NAACP Theatre Awards as a director. She founded the Gloria Gifford Conservatory for the Performing Arts, where she trains actors for stage and screen.

Stuart Elster serves as musical director for the 90-minute concert, which promises songs, laughter, and show-business memories.
