THE RABBIT HOLE SHEBANG

Have you read Alice’s Adventures in Wonderland? Have you wondered what it might be like to be transported into Alice’s world? Wonderland Dreams will allow you, your friends, your children and your grandchildren to have such a unique experience.

Created by artist Alexa Meade, Wonderland Dreams is 26,000 square feet of floor to ceiling immersive artwork. Visitors walk down a rainbow-colored staircase into a maze of rooms sparkling in pastel, psychedelic and primary colors. Maps posted on the walls explain the theme of each room and how to navigate through your journey.

The rooms have enticing names like “We’re All Mad Here,” “Hearts to Infinity” and “Tunnel to Nowhere.” There are also rooms more closely related to Alice: “Mad Tea Party” and “Queen of Hearts.” Each has its unique charms. There are rooms with huge playing cards, sculptures, pictures and seats of all varieties.

Wonderland Dreams provides many opportunities for active play. Children (and adults) can paint flowers and draw pictures. They can also play dress-up with hats, sunglasses and various articles of clothing. And they can sprint along the floor on sitting scooters.

For those who would like an even more intense experience, 3-D glasses are supplied. These glasses are especially effective in those rooms that already play with our senses through painting, mirrors or hanging streamers.

Small doors, tunnels and leafy mazes will definitely delight the little ones, who will find ample opportunities for playing hide-and-seek. Graffiti Alley allows visitors to post their notes on the experience. And the many spots perfect for selfies will help create memories for all those who don’t want to ever forget their time in Wonderland.

On Friday, June 23, there will be a Rainbow Pride celebration at Wonderland Dreams with surprise LGBTQIA+ celebrity guests for a live painting session. This is a special and rare opportunity to see Alexa Meade live at work as she paints the faces and clothes of her models, transforming them into living, breathing works of art. Guests will also have the opportunity to get rainbows painted on their faces throughout Pride weekend beginning Friday, June 23 through Sunday, June 25.
